It all began with an idea to not only increase my business potential but to also help the local oyster population and sustainability. My plan is to introduce the mariculture industry and opportunitys to local wild harvest commercial fisherman in my community, that either didn’t have access to or were misled about the process of and benefits of farming oysters. In 2023 I was awarded the acre grant from the Department of Agriculture.
