Bubba Green has been connected to the ocean in the land since before he could walk.
Food is not just a career for Bubba, as he is most commonly known, but a way of life. After a career as a mounted hound huntsman Bubba found his way to the family business of food. His father, Gullah chef William Green started Would eventually would becomethe Gullah Grub restaurant in 1996 and has been a beloved part of St. Helena Island ever since. Bubba’s collectives are not only accents to the family business, but they’re a way to preserve and embrace the beautiful Gullah Geechee heritage, and to continue to preserve this way of life for generations to come.
